Hanato Ntonk

Head of Foundation
Hobby: Playing Cards
Hananto was introduced to BMR thorugh his dear friend Sari. He is passionate about animal welfare, conservation and biodiversity. He is also active in the community empowerment field.
Hananto's great interest is exploring how humans and nature can live in harmony - and this includes monkeys who are sadly viewed as a problem across much of South East Asia.
Because of his skills in all of these areas, and his passion to make a difference in the world, Sari was eager to appoint him as the Chairman of the Bali Monkey Recue Foundation.

Views about monkeys:
Monkeys deserve nothing but love and respect.

I also hope that monkeys and humans learn to live together in peace.
Sari Martinez

Foundation Manager and Founder of BMR
Hobby: Surfing and animals
As a child, Sari was surrounded by monkeys and rescued her first abused monkey when she was only a teenager. This led to Sari developing a huge passion for safeguarding abused and neglected monkey's in Indonesia. She has dedicated her life to studying primates - specifically log tail macaques and now uses this knowledge to help care for all of the monkeys at the rescue centre.
Sari inherited BMR from her dear friend Lynnette Mann and it was Sari who has registered Bali Monkey Rescue as an official NGO Foundation.
Her drive, passion and leadership is what has led to BMR being the safe haven for macaques that it is today.

Hope for monkeys: the government wants to care about the lives of animals, especially monkeys, who are treated unfairly by humans, tortured, eaten and killed.

Wayan is the longest serving BMR team member, having worked with Lynette before her passing. Wayan is known as "the monkey whisperer" as he has a beautiful ability to communicate and interact with our macaques. Wayan often takes the lead role during a monkey rescue - particularly when it is an aggressive adult monkey. His love and admiration for these animals shines through when you watch him work at BMR, and he is deeply committed to giving them the best possible life that we can.
